Rather than the usual medieval Europe-esque model, I wanted to try exploring other areas and cultures, particularly the hub of diversity that was medieval North Africa and the Middle East.

My thesis won't officially be due until next spring, but luckily my advanced perspective class has been helping a lot when it comes to fleshing out my cinematic moments and character design. Nothing is finalized yet, but at least I feel like I'm having some fun exploring the possibilities.

Landscape Paintings

My landscape paintings from summer school. A lot of fun, considering I've never 1) painted landscapes before or 2) painted with oils.

I've been listening to the podcast "Welcome to Night Vale" recently and besides it being generally funny and charming, the best thing about listening to a podcast is that I can design how I think the characters look without too much fear about it not looking exactly like "[x] actor" or "[y] character model."

For example, I redesigned the announcer/radio host a second time after initially drawing him in the first picture, casting him this time as a NA, and using Evan Adams in "Smoke Signals" as reference.
